2011- The year we get our cup back!
Well, it is a new year, with a new crop of students (mostly new, there's a few leftovers from last year!) and a new teacher in Room 3.
2011 promises to be a fun, exciting and busy year for us here at Lower Moutere School, and already the class has shown some terrific work habits and initiative. We are well into our swimming programme, and as long as it stays warm we will keep swimming for a few more weeks.
The class routines are becoming more defined by the day, and the children should be starting to bring things home in their zippits (homework book, reading book, poetry book, notices).
On Monday we have our Meet the Teacher evening, from 5pm. This is a very informal way for families to come in and see the school, and the classrooms. Oh, and to have a sausage in bread too!
Feel free to pop in and visit us throughout the year, we enjoy the odd visitor!

P.S. Go the All Blacks!

Room 3 were very lucky today!
Room 3 were very lucky today. We had three of the Mako's players come to our school and spend the afternoon with us. We had Tom Marshall, Jonathan Poff and Steve Alfeld and man was it fun! They warmed us up with a run and then 10 star jumps. We then got into two groups and had passes with the boys. Then we got our ripper rugby belts on and went and had a game of bullrush (ripper rugby style). It was great being alongside Mako's boys. Unfortunately we ran out of time and the dreaded bell stopped our fun. We could have spent the whole day hanging out with them. We did get a treat though we got to get our books, t-shirts and our rugby balls signed. They also gave us cool posters of the Makos, the All Blacks and a ticket for our whole class to go watch their game on Friday night. They rock!
Thank you for coming to spend time in Room 3 Tom, Jonathan and Steve. Room 3 loved it!
Thank you Mako's for coming we had a lot of fun. Harrison
I really enjoyed playing bullrush especially when you were the taggers. Kim
I liked when they signed our posters and our class rugby ball. Sam
I liked playing bullrush and ripping off the tags. Georgia
The makos gave us free tickets to go to the game in Nelson. My family is looking forward to going to the game. Go the Makos! Maia A

For always being polite and using your manners. You try your best in class and I love your smile.

Wow! On Friday I got Benjamin Bear. When Benjamin Bear and I got home I went to the Disco but I forgot Benjamin Bear.
The next day I went to Bayley’s house with Benjamin Bear. We played on the tramp and Benjamin did a forwards flip and he landed it!
It was Jack’s birthday today and we had cake! It was fun.

Jodie
for your huge improvement in your behaviour in class. You get straight on with your work and are making it very tidy. You should be proud of yourself.
**********************************************
On Friday I got to take Benjamin Bear home on the bus. When I got home I made a little bed for him. Later in the day we had Subway for tea. After tea we all went to bed.
In the morning we all had breakfast then I went to Ebon’s to play. When I got there we played tag. Later in the day we had lunch and after we played Mums and Dads.
Thank you Benjamin Bear for coming to my house in the weekend.

What a surprise...
What a trip!
We arrived at school all dressed up in our olden day clothes. We got a big group photo with Room 1 and Room 2. We were all very excited!
Our first destination was Bishop's School...
Our next stop was Founders Park. We were really hungry at this stage as we hadn't had any morning tea but we decided to hold off as we got offered a ride on their train. Food could wait...
After the train ride we finally had some food and a catch up with Room 1 and Room 2. Then they left to Bishop's School and we stayed at Founders Park and had a look around the village in our groups. We answered some questions along the way. We even had a film crew stop us to film us for their documentary, EXCITING!
