Week 9 Already!

All of a sudden we are getting close to the end of the term. I am not sure where the weeks have gone, but I am sure that the kids have made some big strides already and are well placed to have a terrific year. We are still swimming, weather dependent, and will be until the end of the term. Here are a few photos of recent goings on...

Week 6

Week 6  has been and gone and we are now well into the second half of the term. The children are still swimming, although this is very weather dependent (as I write this cyclone Lusi is dropping large amounts of water on us!).
The kids have settled nicely into the routines and we are beginning to get more learning into each day. The majority of the kids are enjoying after-lunch milk and those that are choosing not to have milk have become our class gardeners. Discovery rolls on, and a whole host of Room 1, 2 and 3 children have taken the opportunity to run an event and teach their peers a skill. It really is a great chance for the kids to develop their leadership and organisation skills.

Half way through Term 1

Here are a few more swimming photos- the children have loved having the swim instructors helping them over the last two weeks, and the final lesson was on water safety and how to get heavy clothes off in case they fell into the water when boating. Difficult to do, amusing to watch yet an important skill to learn.
There is also a photo of Jacob with a puzzle he (and others) have been working on in their spare time. There is also a great action shot of Leo at Kiwi Cricket.
