SUPER FAMILY FUN DAY

Rooms 1, 2, 3 and 6 are having a Junior Sports Day, called The Super Family Fun Day. It is going to be held here at school, on Friday the 8th of November. It will start at 12.00 with a shared lunch. The Activities will start up after lunch/play at 1.30 and run through the afternoon. We would love to have lots of family members come and join in with us on this day.

Week 3

Week 3- Short week but with lots to do! I hope everyone had a terrific long weekend and has come back refreshed and ready to get stuck in.
The school pool officially opens this week and although we may not go swimming this week, I would still like the kids to start bringing their togs. Please make sure that all togs, bags, goggles and towels are clearly named, as well as uniforms (as they are easy to swap when getting dressed again afterwards).
We have started doing Discovery on Friday mornings with Rooms 1, 2 and 6 and this is proving to be a big hit. If anyone at home has small boxes, or anything that could be used in construction, please send these things in with your child.
We are full swing into preparations for the Super Family Fun Day (Friday, November 8th). The kids will be bringing home a notice very soon to let you know all about it.
In Maths we are still looking at takeaways, and how we can figure them out. The kids are getting really good at drawing squares, lines and dots to help them find the answers.

It is great to see that all the children have sunhats, but just be aware that your children have grown and their hats may start to get a bit tight! Also, because the children have grown through the year, now is a good time to make sure that they haven't outgrown their lunch. I have started to have a few comments about being hungry, even though they have eaten everything.

I will try to get some photos up here of some of the things we've been up to.

Term 4

Apologies for not keeping this more up to date, there were some technical issues that I had to work around...
Anyway, we are back up and running on here and back up and running in Room 3. There are a couple of differences this term; firstly, homework is going to be a single sheet for the term. Hopefully you will have seen this sheet after Monday, but in short, it is a list of activities that the kids can do at home. Some of the activities are things to be done in their books or on paper and some of the activities are jobs to do around home. The sheet fully explains how to carry out the homework tasks, but if you have any questions please ask.
The second change is to do with the opening of an 'over-flow' class, but I will tell you more about that another time.
As far as in class learning goes, we will be looking at similes and how to use them in our writing, character and setting descriptions and the structure of a narrative. In maths we will start off by learning the best ways to do takeaways and in topic we will be learning how to plan an event and hopefully we will get to look at designing our 'dream' classroom. Room 3 is also planning on joining in with Rooms 1 and 2 for discovery time on Friday.
So, when you add in the other parts of the day, it is once again looking like being a busy, fun term!
