After school we didn't go home because we were lucky enough to have a sleepover at school.

We had a yummy afternoon tea as everybody came with something yummy to eat.

First thing we did was rotating around four activities. The activities were lego, board games, chalk art and playing on the playground.

We had a BBQ Tea. We got to eat sausages, chips, carrot sticks and salad.

We got put into teams for a treasure hunt. We ran all over the school looking for the clues. When we got back we had to make a puzzle and then we got a prize.

After the treasure hunt we had a class quiz. We got asked questions about everyone in our class. Two groups drew so we had to have a deciding question. The question was - What is Miss Taylors Pet and its name. Group 5 won they were Joe, Lily, Kaikohe and Tom.
We had a yummy pudding of chocolate and hokey pokey icecream with strawberries. It was Yum!
We got ready for bed and watched a movie called the two brothers, it was sad.

It was exciting to sleep at school in the hall with all our friends.

Joe, Piper and the teachers were the last ones to fall asleep.

The next day....
We watched two Dr Seuss movies while we waited for everyone to wake up. Tom was the last one to wake up!
We had a yummy breakfast of toast, milo, sausages, cereal and fruit.

We played Splat and other games.

We were all exhausted!

After morning tea our parents came to pick us up! and we got a treat to take home with us.
I felt overjoyed because it was so much fun. Lily
I felt amazing because we got to play with our friends all day on Friday and Saturday morning. Grace

I felt joyful because we got to stay over with Miss T and Mrs Gibson. Sam
It was maginificent because we got to play games with our friends and adults. Taylah

Lower Moutere School Photo Competition.

It was fantastic to see so many entries in the school photo competition. I was lucky enough to be involved in running and judging one of the sections.

The amazing photos that were taken, are a real credit to those children involved! They had to take the photo themselves and it was great to see children out around the school using digital cameras.

Well done to the overall winners Molly Faulkner (Junior), Kodee Parata (Middle) and Dorian Walterfang (Senior).

Fantastic action shot Molly! Well done on winning the Junior Section.

Also congratulations to Zoe Limmer who got the people's choice award for the Juniors. This award was voted by the children at Lower Moutere.

I hope you all keep taking amazing photos!

Pets Day!

It's not every day you get to bring your pet to school!

On Wednesday we had Pets Day.

In the morning we got to be involved in building lego, mask and hat making, clay modelling, flower arranging and many more. It was cool because we got to go into other classrooms and see other teachers.

After a yummy lunch of sausages and juices (Thanks to the friends of the school) we got to bring in our pets!

In the afternoon we spent time looking at the pets. There were so many different kinds! There were dogs, cats, chickens, rats, bunny rabbits, turtle, goslings, lambs, just to name a few.

Poor Miss Taylor's Cat Stella had to stay at home :(

Olivia's Nelson Mail Story

On Tuesday Room 3 went on a school trip to the Nelson Mail. I went in Steven's car. In Steven's car was Lily, Ryan, Dom and me! Then we set off to the Nelson Mail. The man showed us around the room, his name was Stuart. We asked him lots of questions. Then he showed us the press. There was heaps of noise. After we hoped in our cars and went to Tahuna. We had lunch there. I was starving! After we had lunch we had a play on the play ground. At 2pm we hoped in the car and went to school. The day was awesome!

On Tuesday we had a fantastic day at the Nelson Mail.

Stuart the pre-press Manager told us all about the Nelson Mail. We asked him lots of really great questions.

Then we got to go in and see how the Nelson Mail is printed. We loved this part!

The machinery was very fast and noisy!
